RuneScape: The First 20 Years. An Illustrated History
A full-colour hardcover companion tome that offers a look behind the scenes as the iconic online fantasy RPG celebrates its 20th birthday!
In 2001, RuneScape transformed the world of MMORPGs with a magical world that was free-to-play in your browser. Assuming any number of fantasy roles, players carved their own adventures in a fantasy land filled with vibrant characters, daring adventure and mystery. In an industry where success can often be short lived, RuneScape has defied the odds by not just surviving, but thriving over an incredible two decades. Now you can get an insider’s look at the tremendous talent and enormous effort that went into creating the land of Gielinor and the magical races who inhabit it.
Jagex and Dark Horse present a guide to the history of the RuneScape franchise, exploring the detailed tapestry of RuneScape and Old School RuneScape through exciting and exclusive art and behind the scenes interviews!
PREORDER/SHIPPING COSTS
FAQs: WHY AM I NOT GETTING FREE SHIPPING WHEN MY BASKET IS OVER £80/$100/90 Euros. See description below and banner on the site – books are excluded from the free shipping offer. They are heavy, cost a lot to ship and will be split shipped from the rest of your order.
WHY ARE SHIPPPING COSTS SO HIGH OUTSIDE THE UK? As this is a large, hardcover book it will be sent by courier rather than our usual tracked postal service – in most instances that is a 1+ day service which means it will likely take a max of a week or so. Shipping via this method to the EU, US/Canada and ROW including Australia from our UK warehouse is unfortunately just expensive. The past year has seen increases in shipping costs due to BREXIT/COVID that are outside of our control. As Dark Horse will be distributing the book globally anyway it makes no sense for us to keep stock of this edition anywhere outside the UK. If the country you live in has shipping costs on the store that are higher than you want to pay then we recommend you order it locally form another book store instead as shipping costs will be much lower (Note: it takes a while for local sellers to offer new books for sale post their initial announcement so the fact you cannot order the standard edition from your local book or online store now, does not mean you won’t be able to over coming weeks. Some local stockist have been added to the newspost and Jagex will look to add more as they go live.)
WHY ARE SHIPPING COSTS FOR THE DELUXE EDITION FOR SALES IN THE US/CANADA LESS THAN FOR THE STANDARD EDITION. The shipping costs for the deluxe edition for US/CANADA sales are based on bulk shipping stock direct from the factory to a US warehouse to be shipped to you from there. There is no reason to do this for the standard edition as it will be available from many local sellers. The shipping costs on the store for the standard edition are therefore higher as they are based on shipping from the UK not the US (see above).
NOTE: ALL BOOKS ARE EXEMPT FROM FREE SHIPPING OFFERS. THIS IS LONG LEAD PRE-ORDER ITEM. SEE BELOW FOR PLANNED SHIP DATE AUTUMN 2021. OTHER ITEMS ORDERED AT THE SAME TIME WILL BE SHIPPED OUT SEPARATELY AND THE SHIPPING COSTS FOR THE ORDER CALCULATED BASED ON SPLIT SHIPPING.
WHILST ALL EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO KEEP SHIPPING COSTS TO AS QUOTED WHEN ORDERED, GIVEN UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE IMPACT OF RECENT REGULATORY AND GLOBAL EVENTS ON FUTURE SHIPPING COSTS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO INCREASE SHIPPING COSTS PRIOR TO SHIPMENT. IN THE EVENT SHIPPING COSTS NEED TO INCREASE YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WITH UPDATED COSTS AND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO CANCEL THE ORDER PRIOR TO SHIPMENT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO ACCEPT ANY INCREASE.
ANY CUSTOMS OR DUTY CHARGES DUE ON A PACKAGE MUST BE PAID BY THE PERSON RECEIVING THE PACKAGE. AS CUSTOMS POLICIES AND IMPORT DUTIES VARY WIDELY FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY, WE CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT THESE COSTS WOULD BE AND WOULD THEREFORE SUGGEST YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CUSTOMS OFFICE FOR DETAILS OF CURRENT CHARGES BEFORE ORDERING.
BOOK TO BE PRINTED IN CHINA. ALL ORDERS FROM THIS STORE TO SHIP FROM A UK BASED WAREHOUSE GLOBALLY. AS A HARDBACK HEAVY BOOK, INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COSTS MAY BE HIGH. THIS EDITION WILL BE DISTRIBUTED GLOBALLY BY DARK HORSE TO LEADING AND INDIE BOOK STORES SO CHECK LOCALLY FOR OTHER STOCKISTS IF YOU WANT TO AVOID HIGH INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COSTS.
